OUR VOLUNTEERS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!

Berkeley Senior Services is a non-profit agency offering a network of services enabling seniors (60+) to remain independent participating members of our community. Our agency hours are 8:00 – 4:00, Monday through Friday. The requirements of our programs and services may vary according to our funding sources and federal and state criteria, such as the Older American’s Act. We could not provide our programs and services without our valuable volunteers. Have some spare time? Want to do something productive and meaningful to serve others and your community? Perhaps one of the areas below may seem appealing to you!

Adult Day Service/Respite

Assist participants with involvement in activities that promote physical and mental wellness including thinking games, music, movement activities, crafts, trips and reminiscence.

Food Service

Help prepare, serve and clean up USDA approved meals, Monday through Friday, served at noon, for the Senior Center and other sites.

In Home Care

Provide care to seniors in their homes. Services include personal hygiene/grooming, non-tech physical assistance, nutritional support. Training will be provided.

Senior Support

Provides services to seniors 60 years or older and live in Berkeley County. Assistance with grocery shopping, prescription pick up, rides to the hair dressers, bill paying, letter reading and writing and other errands/services.

Transportation

Provides transportation for seniors (60+) in Berkeley County and disabled citizens who may not be 60 years of age.

Recreation and Social Activities

Seniors can stay active and healthy with many diversified activities to pick from, as well as guest speakers, educational programs, special events throughout the year, that provide stimulating lifelong learning opportunities.

Computer Education

Learn while you volunteer. Help with your choice of classes on the Internet, Email, Windows 7, beginners and advanced, Photoshop and Intro to Computers. Click on the link for the fall class schedule:

Facilities

Help with mowing, weeding, shoveling, small repairs, odd jobs, touch-up painting.
